RDA vs. RDTA vs. RTA

There are several types of rebuildable atomizers, all with their own unique qualities. Knowing the difference between each style will help you decide on the best rebuildable option for you.

RDA

RDA stands for Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer. These tanks have open access to the coils so that e-liquid can be directly dripped onto the coil and wick. The great thing about RDAs is that you can swap between e-liquid flavours easily. However, this convenience comes with a downside: the juice wells in RDAs are normally small, so you have to consistently be dripping e-liquid into them. RDAs are excellent options for those who like to switch things up during the day but aren’t travelling often, as they have the ability to leak more easily than a traditional tank.

RDTA

RDTAs are Rebuildable Dripping Tank Atomizers, which are a hybrid of a RDA and a traditional vape tank. They allow convenient access to the coils and wick for dripping, but also have an extended reservoir for e-liquid storage. Wicks in RDTAs must be very long, as they need to reach down into the e-liquid reservoir. But because of the spacious reservoir, the wick saturates itself, meaning that you can use the atomizer as a dripping or traditional tank.

RTA

RTAs are known as Rebuildable Tank Atomizers. These tanks work in the same way as a traditional factory-built coil tank, but with coils that can be manually built and installed. RTAs can normally hold more e-liquid than RDAs or RDTAs, but the coil is not accessible for dripping. That said, RTAs are more convenient for on-the-go vaping and are less likely to leak.
