Equipped with a 450mAh battery, the SMOK NOVO may not seem like the most robust device, and in many ways it isn’t. However, the SMOK NOVO isn’t trying to be a powerhouse vape mod, and is instead designed to be a portable pocket-friendly e-cigarette for every day carry. The 450mAh battery is in no way the largest on the market, but it manages to fully power the device for a full day of use.
In terms of power, the SMOK NOVO pushes out 10 to 16W of power through a 1.2Ω coil making it perfect for enjoying your favorite variety of Nicotine Salt E-Juice. Looking next at the construction of the device, the SMOK NOVO was clearly built to be as portable as possible. The materials were specifically chosen to be lightweight, while the actual dimensions of the device are as compact as possible. In essence, the SMOK NOVO is made up of two distinct pieces, the main body and the pod itself.
Looking first at the body, the SMOK NOVO is comprised of a high-quality polymer that is both lightweight and quite durable. The body itself weighs just 40g and is shaped in a distinct way to comfortably fit a user’s hand and pocket. That is to say, the body is slim enough to not form too much of a silhouette in the pocket, while still being thick enough to feel substantial in the hand. A small charging port is also featured on the side of the device, meaning the SMOK NOVO can lay on its side when charging.
Moving onto the pod, the SMOK NOVO comes equipped with a 2mL refillable pod that houses a 1.2Ω coil. The pod is constructed of a high-quality plastic that has a clear body and a contoured black mouthpiece. The curves on the mouthpiece make it comfortable for the mouth, while the clear plastic makes it easy to monitor e-juice levels. The pods are designed to be refilled, making the SMOK NOVO an open pod system, as is the coil. This means users can use the same pod for a very long time, or can carry a separate pod filled with another e-liquid.
All in all, the SMOK NOVO presents an interesting option for every vaper. If you’re a new vaper, the fuss-free design of the mod makes it incredibly user friendly, due in part to the draw activation and lack of any external controls. This means, the device works exactly the way it should, without any user interference. For more experienced vapers, the SMOK NOVO offers a portable backup option for a high-power device that may be too bulky to carry around everyday.
